180. Kira Stokes, Trainer and Founder of The Stoked Method

This week I’m chatting with Kira Stokes, celebrity trainer and founder of both the Stoked Method and the KiraStokesFit app. Kira’s a health and wellness expert based in New York City, with over 25 years of experience in the fitness industry. After graduating from Boston College with a degree in psychology and a minor in health sciences, she went on to become obsessed with the beauty of movement — ultimately becoming a personal trainer (with almost too many certifications to count) and group fitness coach. Her clients (past and present) include Shay Mitchell, Ashley Graham, Norah O'Donnell, and Nastia Liukin — among others.

In today’s episode, she talks to me about how she first got into the fitness industry in college and how different things were back then — training at one point up to 12 people in one day to now, coaching thousands via her KiraStokes Fit App. We talk living a life you want versus the one that may be expected of you, and how trusting her gut helped her navigate some major professional hurdles as well as the COVID pandemic. Plus: Her best advice for anyone who wants a career in the fitness industry.
